Najatene' Saunders
New Jersey
Najatene Saunders is a sophomore at Princeton University studying Chemical and Biological Engineering. On campus, she helps facilitate a women's Bible talk that fosters sisterhood and biblical, spirit-filled revelations.
Najatene' is the youngest, with two older brothers, and cannot wait to speak alongside her mother, Fatimahtene, who is undoubtedly her greatest confidant.
Witnessing how her parents surrendered and entrusted a dark place in their marriage to God sparked her journey of faith. The loneliness and isolation she felt as her family forcibly changed was suffocating. In that vulnerable place, she experienced firsthand the poignancy of Simon Peter's words, "Father, where else would I go, for you have the words of life" (John 6:68). On July 14, 2019, she was baptized and chose the joy, peace, and fullness of a life with God.
When Parents Break Their Promise: How Does Betrayal Affect Children?
Infidelity in marriage can be challenging enough, but what about the children who hear and see behavior that doesn’t seem quite right? Children can feel shattered, alone and left without a voice. Join my daughter and I as we discuss the following: the loss of trust, shame, confusion, ambivalence, resentment and acting out that affects children. Even in our darkest hour, God can use the “mountains in our lives” to restore hope and rebuild a stronger family bond.
Jesus said, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Matthew 11:23-24
