Michelle Hafer became a Christian in 1990 at the age of 19 while attending Ohlone College in Fremont, CA -- a decision that profoundly shaped her life. Just 10 months later, she entered the full-time ministry and joined the mission team to Kiev, later serving in the ministry in Moscow. In1993, she married her husband, John, and together they led the Myanmar mission team beginning in 1996. Over the years, Michelle and John also led churches in Oceania and Sacramento, demonstrating a deep commitment to their faith and building community. For the past nine years, Michelle has worked in special education, combining her passion for advocacy with a dedication to supporting children and individuals with disabilities. Michelle and John have two adult children, Foster (23) and Dominick (18). The Hafers live in San Diego, California.
Navigating the World of a Transgender Child
In this class, Michelle will share her experiences parenting a transgender child. She will share what it felt like to buy a ticket for the Bahamas and end up in The Hunger Games, while all the while, learning to cling to her relationship with God in ways she didn’t know possible. She will share with raw authenticity how God revealed Himself and gave her courage of heart along the way.
